![]() My own interest was in getting AWAY from the drum sounds that sounded like that, and to find ways to produce realistic sounding acoustic drum tracks- but to each his own/different strokes. I am familiar with what an 808 is (was) and in my own personal searches have learned a thing or two along the way. While I am not even remotely familiar with the producers mentioned, or their "signature sounds", (No, I didn't search for examples to listen to either. " True, there is a lot of shitty sound design and sample sites out there, but there are equally as many good ones." I have never found the balance of good to begin to approach the volume of bad personally, for my tastes and interests. Slim: I was going to reply with some comments, but after reading the blog post in Noel's first link, I think what I wanted to say was summed up fairly well! I only disagreed with one point. ![]() ![]() Well this has turned into an interesting thread, with many useful tips and comments IMO!
